The girl with the pearl necklace.
Today is an almost perfect summers day. It is delightfully warm but with a cooling breeze like a slice of chilled cucumber in a gin and tonic. Work has been rather strange recently, with the move and things the company feels rather disjointed, every day feels like the last day of term when one is allowed to bring in games from home and watch wholesome videos.
The new office is but a short walk away from my house and to get to work I stroll through a deeply lovely regency period graveyard. It is blissfully quiet which gives me time to consider things and one can very readily imagine all sorts of exciting adventures starting in such a place, perhaps by observing the rites of a dastidly evil cult and having to race to Budapest to save the life of some interestingly complex young lady.
Or perhaps not, either way I enjoy the quiet and strong, untroubled lines of trees that are far more rugged, and real than the bouffanted selection of plants one finds in the parks of London.
On the woman side of things, I spent an enjoyable Sunday with the 'not-quite-an-old-flame' we went to a gallery and then for a few drinks along the river. I still find her intentions hard to read, perhaps it is the difference of cultures, or maybe she has just not decided for her self.
Today while doing a very dull task I flirted via text message with the Amazon, as a result of it we are finally going to go for drinks tomorrow. I am rather looking forward as she is a most enjoyably feisty young lady.
When we moved into the new place we did a bit of exploration of the surrounding bars and pubs to find which ones would be suitable for repeat visits, of course this will be an on-going adventure but time well spent I feel. In one of the latter pubs I got talking to a nice local girl with a pearl necklace and a tweed skirt. She was very charming and helped me carry the round of drinks back to the table as well as furnishing me with her phone number should I require more local knowledge.
I am so very happy to be in an area in which such girls are so very abundant, there was a paucity of them in my life before.
