My new local.

I met up with the Lady with the Legs again last night, normally I have a rather strict policy on not seeing any girl for two days in a row (As it can give them entirely the wrong idea) but she was reviewing a bar that was close to where I live so I thought it would be fine to make an exception.

It turned out that this bar, was far, far closer than I thought it was. I could very easily walk there fresh from the bath and still be steaming by the time I have my first drink. Of course I won't be testing this theory, but it gives you an idea of how dangerous this bar is going to be for me.

The food was extremely good, being Swedish in style and flown in to ensure an authentic taste, the wild Swedish Oysters were knee tremblingly good, possibly the best in London. I can still remember the sharp, yet salty taste of them. Even if I hadn't sampled the cocktails I would have recommended this place to a friend but after the cocktails I think I may see about moving in.

I had a 'deep martini' which was a pleasant mash of elderflower and vodka which was good and had the right mix of subtle flavours and the heady kick one expects from a martini. The cucumber martini that followed it was even better, gentle flavours and not a hint of the power behind it. Of course all of these were knocked for six by the positively spiffing cocktails that featured a new Korean Vodka that is flavoured with mint and strawberries, it was a kin to supping on a warm day in spring, deeply refreshing and with a complex, long taste. It will also be the perfect cocktail for dating as it has strawberries (Which are terribly important if one is going to be naughty later on, as they are splendid source of zinc) and mints so your breath is fresh and sweet.

This bar is going to definitely feature in my seductions, it is perfectly placed for post-bar strolls along the river and has all the right elements.

Anyway, back to the story. I chatted away with the Lady with the legs about various things, she was going off to see another bar so I walked her to her cab at which point she found out that the person she was going to see this other bar with had cancelled. She invited me along and, as I thought it would be rude to leave a lady alone with cocktails I gave in and went along.

The second bar was more of an evening place, the football was on which rather spoiled the atmosphere. 'Legs' threw a bit of a strop about this which I must admit was rather unbecoming. I thought the food was good and I had a very pleasant real apple Martini which was awfully refreshing and made the cab journey home pass in a pleasant blur.

I have committed to a night out with the chaps tonight, we haven't done one for a while and they can be jolly rummy once things get going. Hopefully they won't get ruined on whisky again and end up having a heart to heart at me again. There are times and places for that sort of thing and jolly nights out is not one of them.
